Sneezing, stuffy head, runny nose, itchy eyes are all signs of allergies. With Spring on it’s way many are jumping to get outdoors and have some fun. But many others are dreading the annoying Spring time allergy symptoms that come along with the great outdoors.

If each Spring you get frequent colds, it may be allergies. If you get cold symptoms you just hang on to it is most likely allergies as well. If you suffer like this each year, you should see your health care provider. There are treatments for allergies.

In the Spring pollen is the primary allergen to cause problems. Pollen can be present as early as February depending on your location. If you live in a hot and humid area mold and fungus can play a big roll in allergies.

Some colds are actually caused by allergies. But not all. Some colds are viral in nature. The difference is an allergy cold is caused by a breakdown in your immune when exposed to a allergen. A viral cold is caused by a virus entering your system.

Pollen is a major source of allergies, but there are many more. Some people are allergic to grass, pesticides or chemicals and even pets, or their dander any ways. Most of these kind of allergies cause the same symptoms of the scratchy and itchy throat and nose.

Now we have only talked about Spring allergies. There is a whole group of allergens that cause a different reaction. You could be allergic to something like insects, food, detergents, soaps and medications. These symptoms can be more troublesome. Hives, rashes and shock are all possibilities.

If you think you suffer from allergies, but not sure what you can have your medical provider perform a skin allergy test. It is a very simple test. Basically they prick the skin introducing the most common allergens and see if you react to any of them.

You should not ignore your allergy symptoms. You should consult with a doctor when they occur. If you do not treat the symptoms they can make you much more vulnerable to things like sinus infections and respiratory infections.
